I am ready to upgrade from my Stylus 770sw, PT-035, UFL-1 camera setup to the E-520. On land, I use the E-1.

I know I need to buy the E-520 body, the PT-E05 housing, and a pair of UFL-2 flash strobes. I will need some type of bracket (any good suggestions?).

I'm thinking of adding the 7-14mm lens and the dome port. Has anyone tried this lens and have any opinions about it.

Am I missing any parts to complete the system? Are there any cables or other connectors I need to be aware of?

Thanks

The 7-14mm lens is quality glass, but expensive; great for wide angle.

Unfortunately, good WA is hard to master...sometimes you get lucky.

Personally, I would not use UFL-2 with 7-14. They are a little underpowered and narrow for a lens that has 114 deg field of view. I would recommend either Sea & Sea YS-250 or Ikelite DS-160.

Olympus' 170mm dome port is a bit soft in the corners with this lens. The Athena OPD-200 will offer sharper corners, but is bigger, heavier, and more expensive.

Athena makes a set that includes both zoom and focus controls:
Athena 200mm Dome Port Set for Olympus 7-14 [ath.opd.wz7-14.mf.type2.pte] - $1,999.00 : Reef Photo & Video!, The Underwater Photo Pros

or you can opt to only control zoom:
Athena OPD-200V Pro Port for Olympus [ath.opd.200.vpro.oly] - $1,499.00 : Reef Photo & Video!, The Underwater Photo Pros
Athena Extension Ring & Zoom Gear for Olympus 7-14 [ath.ep/zg7-14pte] - $439.95 : Reef Photo & Video!, The Underwater Photo Pros

I would use Ultralight Control Systems arms with the bigger strobes.
