What does MOF stand for? Hmmmmmm.........your guess is probably as good as mine. Not something that you should take too seriously though.

You'll lose your mask. Wearing it around your neck is the proper method
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

It's how it all started :D

But is MOF DIR?

I just tried to look it up, but couldn't find anything on it...do I put the mask on my forehead first THEN drop the weights? Do I do it at depth or once I get to the surface?

Also, if I have my snorkel attached, will that throw my potential rescuer off?

Those are just things that the book never covered?!?!?!

The thing I was taught by my PADI instructor is that it might be an indication of stress , not distress ... I think that many are using the two phrases interchangeably ... come on people, you know that someone that is in distress is going to be showing other, more obvious signs that they are in trouble and wont be hard to pick out.

Stress , is a little harder to pick up on, you are trained in the rescue class to try and pick out any signs of it
And MOF as an indicater of stress , I saw a case of it demonstrated in my rescue class by someone who was task loaded and more stressed then the rest of the class , pushed his mask up after an exersize (yes, talking to him indicated much stress)

Welcome to the debate. You will fit right in - good sense of humor.

Sigh...., I now wear my mask backwards on forehead. Other divers look at me and ask themselves, "why does that wierd boy have his mask on the wrong way around?"

Pimp Style :), aren't I cool now?
:rofl:

Fixed Jams. :)

Ahem ... you MOF'ers have your own room to play in. Take this discussion to that room.

Thread closed ...
