Question What do you think of the Teric as a dive computer AND wearing it as a watch?

I see it's been discussed here, but any other information? I have a Peregrine already, I want the air integration and I'm on the fence between Perdix and Teric. One standout I see is the Teric formfactor makes it possible to double as a watch on trips. Someone did point out the Perdix takes standard batteries.

I'm a little late to the party but being 145# and 6'1" It is far to large and bulky to wear everyday. I did notice that one of the guys on the YouTube channel that does Divers React wears his casually.

A DC is like life saving gear. Also would you want to risk knocking it or cracking its screen in some accident by chance in the week before a dive vacation after you have spend a few 1000 bucks in flight and trip bookings? For me the gear for a specialist hobby stays protected in home storage until it’s time to pack.

shearwater’s comparison chart shows “vibration and audible beeps” for Teric—is the difference in how configurable it is?

I sold my Peregrine a month back, but last time I checked in the settings I don't recall a setting to configure how the vibrate function actually erm, vibrates... Also the Peregrine was vibrate only, no hardware for audible beeps etc.

On my Teric I can configure between audible and vibrate (or both) and also configure the type of vibrate such as 2 short, 3 short etc. I have to admit I haven't played with this setting much other than setting it to 3 vibrates. I'm sure it's detailed in the manual somewhere.

The Perdix does not contain the hardware for vibrate.

I’ve had my Teric for almost 4 years and I wear it every day. It reminds me of what I’d rather be doing, and I’ve never lost it since I always know where it is!

I want to get one. Have tried on a friend’s, and it fits just fine for everyday use. Way I see it, there’s no way I’m not using it as an everyday watch for how much it costs. LOL

I would not use it as a daily watch. I took a look at the literature and no where does Shearwater advertise or suggest it be a daily wear.
I would be apprehensive about accelerated wear/tear and the inherent possibility of a failure during a dive.

I know - I'm a party pooper.

Best thing is to just ask Shearwater if they recommend using it as a daily watch.

Too bulky for daily wear, and missing too many of the features I use on my Apple Watch. It's a very nice dive computer, though.
