After getting beat up for years in a 25' Outboard Cuddy. We made the jump to a 28' Nauset Downeaster. Man what a differerence! She has an economical 6 Cyl. CAT diesel, sleeps 4, 2 showers and nice dive platform with a deep ladder. Yes it meant a major investment but we are one heck of alot more comfortable. we live in RI and dive Watch Hill to Block Island to Marthas Vineyard and it get get nasty!

Transom door, fin ladder, head, room on tha back deck

I like the type of boats that are owned by other people :)

Preferably a good diver who is meticulous about maintenance... :D

principally, i look for a boat not currently at the bottom of any body of water
(and that has never been at the bottom of any body of water).

also, i prefer for there to be no holes or rotten wood. also, no ghosts.

not to have been the victim of fire is a plus (but not mandatory). no insect
infestations, of course.

Andy just go out to Mayport NS and ask to borrow one of those big gray ones!!

Rough water ready
Lots of deck space
Good speed and range
A place to duck out of bad weather (a canvas top will do)
Lite enough to tow easily
A good GPS system!!!

Oh yeah!......a cooler for after dive refreshment!!

The ideal dive boat for me would be a 24'-30' Zodiac with a cabin and twin 200's. You can take it out in the worst weather and still get home. It is very stable and low riding for easy egress.

My Zodiac is 24' but w/o the cabin. I've had her out in 20' swells without any problem.

Seal wannabe :D
