I used Aldora divers, thought they were great. http://www.aldora.com/
1. they have 6 packs and group according to ability.
2. use high pressure steel tanks which gives you alot of bottom time and takes weight off your belt
3. will pick up at hotel docks
4. take rinse & store your gear for you.
5. everybody dives with computers- if you don't have one they will lend you one (no charge).

they may seem a bit more expensive up front but they are quality dive op and you get more bottom time. Our divemaster had limited knowledge of marine biology fortunately dive bud is marine biologist.

Thanks, Jeff. I'll try Aldora this morning.

Heading down to Cozumel March 12 - 19th for a week of diving. Any recommendations on quality dive shops & dive locations?

Thanks,

If you are looking for small groups, Dive With Martin is great and we have used them several times.

There are a couple of email addresses on his site, but this is the only one that seems to work. dwm@prodigy.net.mx

Have a great trip!

Thanks,
We always use local DM Hernan Bacelis aboard The "Jean Lafitte II" (e-mail hernanbacelis@yahoo.com) or 918-434-6722 OR 918-825-4782. A great DM with tons of experience. Small numbers 6-8 people with on board snacks and water/juice. Tell Hernan Dawn and John from Toronto recommended him. Have a great trip.

Deep Blue didn't rinse and store my gear, and they didn't fluff my pillow or put chocolates on bed. They did take me to awesome reefs, helped me with my gear and made sure I had the time of my life. And to their credit, they always emphasized safety as a priority. I'm sure there are several really good dive ops in Cozumel, but without a doubt DeepBlue is one of them. Have fun, dive safe, dive with DeepBlue.
Hats off to my buddy Jim for planning the awesome Cozumel trip !

I've been to Coz seven or eight times now--and I've dived with several different shops. Papa Hog is my repeat choice. The operation is well-run and Mike and Margaret try to accomodate divers in their choice of sites. And the shore diving right off the beach there at Villablanca Gardens is super, as is the snorkeling. Try a package through the Hogs at Villablanca Hotel--great deal includes breakfast and a "hello" shore dive.

Oh, yeah--if you don't have BC and reg, the rentals here are as cheapest and reliable as any on the island.

I and the local dive shop have used Aqua Safari with good results. Somewhat of a cattle boat dive however, so if you're looking for adventure, then I would look for a shop that is more of a custom dive operation, just be prepared to pay for it. Good luck!

FYI, I swapped e-mails with a ScubaBoard member who had some really good things to say about the dive op, Living Underwater. Large steel tanks, long dives. In my opinion sounds like they're worth checking out.
