I am liking the Mares Icon bc and the Oceanic Excursion but cant decide which one. What are your thought of these bc's?

Don't use them but when i got my last one this is what i was looking for :

FIT will it work with my dry and wet suit is it comfortable do i feel restricted.
Lift I went for the big lift
WEIGHT how easy is it to get rid of the weight if you go with intergrated system

I had a Mares Icon that I used for about 18 dives and it is on its way back for warranty service for the third time, I decided to buy a new Zeagle Tech and I love it far more!

I say, the cheaper one so it doesn't hurt to get rid of it if you go tech.
No, make it the expensive one so you can charge more when you sell it.
I don't know...sorry about that. :)

Transpac is very versatile. I have no experience with the two you mentioned. I recommend the one that can be adjusted the tightest and feels the most comfortable. Then I would recommend a Dive Rite Transpac :)

I dive the Oceanic Excursion and love it! Fits real well and is extremely comfortable. The positioning in the water is very nice. I have used it in 30 degree water to the warm Caribbean waters, no problem diving in either environment. Though has been mentioned before, if you think you might get into technical diving sooner than later, price could be a small concern. Besides that I love the BC...

I have the Excursion for DMing classes and it's a great BC. I really like that it's rear inflate as opposed to a jacket style.

Try them both on, and buy which ever one fits best.

I was super big on the Excursion, but it just didn't fit my dimensions right.

In the end I must of tried 10 BC's on until I found one that was perfect.

I would try them both also, if possible. I was eyeing the Omega Zone II for it's ability to convert from single to doubles and the straps that seem like they might work with wet and dry suits. With up to 60 lbs of lift I figure it's good for my cold water environs. Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this or other hybrid type BCDs?
