for those of the non aussie kind... down here for the past few months we have alot of shark sightings and unfortunatly a few surfers have been bitten (none at our fav dive sites btw) but a navy clearance diver lost his arm when bitten by a bull shark in sydney harbour/garden island (where civilians arent allowed to dive)

soooo....... the media have been in a shark frenzy of course and some dive shops are now offering 'shark shields on every OW course"

so im guessing the boys up at Nelson Bay (a BEAUTIFUL part of the world btw and 2hrs north from sydney) decided to take the psssss out of the situation... :D (sniff) they made me proud too
