I enjoyed the recent trip report, and I was wondering what big dives/trips folks have coming up this summer.

I'm really excited about getting to dive the Roscinco in Lake Michigan as my first post class deep dive. It is outside of Kenosha, WI, and it is a small motor yacht wrecked in 1928 in 185ffw. This is in 10 days.

I'm also really excited to head up to the Straits of Mackinac later on this summer to dive some of the great wrecks up there like the Cedarville, Sandusky, and Eber Ward. I'm just hoping my wife is back up and cleared for diving by that time so we can both enjoy it (hip surgery.)

So what are you looking forward to?

Tom

Well, first, I'm looking forward to my face healing, so I can dive again :)

I have a couple of days of diving with my buddies in Monterey scheduled for mid-May, but that's up in the air with this injury.

The first week of June is back to the caves in Mexico, with my Cave 2 buddy-to-be, my husband, and lamont.

End of June is a great event -- some friends chartered an entire boat for the Channel Islands, and we have 23 DIR (more or less) divers going out to spend three solid days diving like maniacs. Scooters will be in evidence, as will monkey diving rigs.

August is Cave 2 in Florida (we'll see if there is anything left of me when the mosquitoes get done).

October is a week on the MV Tala in the Red Sea, with my husband and my favorite dive buddy. Unfortunately, my plan to book half the boat with DIR folks fell apart, because I couldn't find that many DIR divers who wanted to go. But it should be a pleasant group of people, anyway.

And November is another week in Mexico with a bunch of good friends -- and with any luck at all, I'll be OFF THE MAINLINE!

Assuming I heal, I've got a fun year in store for me.

Lynne wins the thread so far.

The only things I have firmly on the books are a couple of wreck dives (Cape Charles/ PC-815 May 2nd 2009 - The Dive Matrix Forums) and a UTD course next month. Was supposed to do the Missile Tower and Hogan down in SD last weekend, but the ocean didn't cooperate.

There are other ideas floating around, but with no official schedule.

Oh... the wife and I are going to Croatia in September, and I'll try to get at least some diving in.

Supposed to be some very nice diving off the Croatian coast, and I think there are a couple of Croatian divers here on SB who might be useful sources of information for shops, dive sites, etc.

I may be making more trips, but you're going further off the beaten track!

I don't know... Egypt is pretty out there.

Hey, I guess we're both going to parts of the Roman Empire :p

Yah, including Monk Seal (I think).

Definite plans so far:

2 days on the SS Governor in July
Trimix2 in San Diego in early September
FL cave diving in late Sept
Powell River BC area in mid-October
Mexico caves in late-November

I'm spending 2009 getting up to speed on my RB so that I'm ready to go back and do the deep stuff in 2010.

2009 trips - Kootenay Lake, BC (done twice already), Port Hardy, BC (done), Newfoundland in June, nothing planned yet for the fall. Mexico in Jan. 2010 for cave stuff (this will be on OC).

2010 will hopefully be much, much busier.

- Finishing Advanced EANx / deco procedures this month
- Getting my setup more or less in order and dive dive dive
- Half of May... 1 week French Riviera for the deepish wrecks (140-170 feet)
- Depending on the weather summer season will be filled with saturday North Sea wreck dives (booked every other week from beginning of june till end of sept)
- Since my girlfriend dives too.. (but not wrecks) I'll need to oblige her of course and when I'm feeling only 95% dead tired I'll dive with her on sundays.
- I'll also start Assistant Instructor course during this period
- October 2 weeks of Cozumel diving with girlfriend
- November/december start of extended range course.

Woops... I'm in the wrong board didn't know this was DIR :)

Well, I got married in Feb and have yet managed to find time for a honeymoon..... am hoping that the wife and I will get ten days or so in Vanuatu, doing nothing but dive the President Coolidge twice a day, every day. Will probably do a TDI Advanced Wreck course whilst I am there, but depends on the $$$s really.

Then in November, am fully intending to do six days in the south island, doing a liveaboard trip and dive the Mikhail Lermontov (a.k.a the rusty ruskie). Two of the largest diveable shipwrecks in the world in the same year, that would make me quite happy!

If I play my cards right, I will also squeeze in a trip to Sydney to do Tech 1 with Liam from Dive Bondi - but I'm not quite sure on that just yet.

No Problem, your dives are just as cool as anyone's.
