My friends and I will be going to Cozumel September 10-18. We are thinking of going on the whale shark tour but the cost is high and the season ends on September 15 which makes me think that there may not be as many whale sharks then. Anyone been near Isla de Mujeres recently that can tell me if it is worth it now to go?

Thanks!

David

I´m in Cancun at this moment my friend, and definitively season ends September 15th.

Thanks Andrés. Since the season is ending that date will there still be a lot of whale sharks to see?

Hello David,
I am a direct operator.
We have had an excellent summer, but there are not huge groups anymore, we have not had days of no sightings, yesterday we worked with 10 of them the day before it was 5, so it is not like in mid august (400 plus of them) but still some are here, on sept. 15 what ends are the permits for all boats, but the sharks are actually spotted around until late September, beginning of October.
Hope this info helps.
HAPPY DIVING
