check out the waterproof 7mm suits ... the hood isnt attached, but the suit is basically a semi-dry without a dry zipper ... the seams are waterproof and they have seals on the wrist and ankles ... i have their 5mm and have been in 50-60 degree water down to over 100 comfortably

I echo what Mark Vlahos said. I dive the same suit and love it. I've owned 6 different wetsuits in the last 10 years and the excel quad polar with the integrated hood and front entry is superior to anything I've seen or worn. Why bother with a 2 piece setup when it can be perfected with one? The density of the material is different around the joints and strategic areas for better mobility without losing warmth. I dive it all year round and never get cold.

Good Luck!

I've been wearing a custom fit 7mm wetsuit plus a 5mm hooded vest underneath the wetsuit with good success. Also, I would recommend using 5mm or 7mm gloves if you are also prone to getting cold.

I'm another xcel wetsuit guy. I use their 7/6/5 full suit with a 4/3 hooded vest. It's kept me comfortale at temps from 51f to 68f diving in Southern California. I would have preferred the hooded suit but my shape and the suit's shape wouldn't come to an agreeement.
