I had that problem, a suit that was snug was short on my arms and legs (have to say it was 10 years ago and I didn't try many...). Nowadays there are so many brands and sizes that you should find something that fits you. But if you are from the UK you could start thinking of a drysuit. And you can get a made to measure one at a really good price from Dry Suits from Seaskin Custom Drysuits home page
