Does anyone have any experience cleanly rigging up a P-valve on a wetsuit? I get cold pretty quickly so even in South Florida I’m in a semi-dry pretty often and sometimes it’s just not that cool to be in immersed in my own urine for the duration of a dive.

What's the main issue with peeing in the semi dry? If it smells afterwards, drink more water
If you think you want a p-valve, try out the condom catheter and a tube running down to your ankle first before committing to installing a dedicated setup

Find some babies, some that haven't had time to develop sensibilities and ask them how they deal with it

The couple issues I have - like you said, the semi-dry gets pretty smelly after rinsing/drying unless I soak it in a simple green solution before the rinse. And like I said I get cold quickly so most of the time I’ll just let the pee linger in the suit for the dive, until the surface interval where I’ll flush it out.

I do get worried that waiting till the end to flush it out might make me smell like pee more than the next guy once I’m on the boat. I haven’t had any comments about it but maybe folks are just being polite! I could always drink more water

Therapy to get over the swimming in pee thing ;) just about anyone who uses a pee valve in a drysuit has at some point spent a dive in their own pee. A semi dry is just semi dry you can partially flush it as you dive, at least you avoid gluing stuff to your junk.
Hahaha the swimming in pee thing is mostly over consideration of the other divers on the boat after the dive. When I’ve got no one else to worry about I like to try divert it into my hood for the extra warmth. Might still need therapy…

That’s a good point about the glue.

I cut a hole and have a non balanced valve on my quad. Alternative as written above is to run the pipe straight down your leg and out an ankle or alternative slit in the suit.

Gotcha, I think I’ll do as lexvil suggested and try it down the ankle and if I like it I’ll cut that hole. Any suggestions for which p-valves you like to use?
