I'm bringing my 5mm... :e18:

i used a 3mm full suit in coron. that should be okay...

I used a 3mm full suit as well. It really depends on how warm blooded you are, amount of natural "body insulation", how many dives you plan on diving each day and how many dive days in a row. I tend to chill down after four days of3 dive per day diving.

Coron was my first dive trip to the Philippines and it was in May. I dived 3 times each day for a whole week. The wrecks are on the bottom anywhere from 85 to 120 feet. I got to dive each wreck multiple times and even got to call a couple of days worth of dives because I was the only one diving that day. This was early in my dive experience so I didn't have the bottom time I do now. I would use a 5mm suit if I were to dive there again for the same length of time. Water temps were about 85 F even at 100 ft.

I've been back to the Philippines 4 times since that trip and I tend to make the same amount of dives each time and have found a full 3mm is not enough for me.

FYI - I'm 6ft and about 195lbs. - Everyone's metabolism is different so you really need to know yourself better rather than use someone elses suit recommendations.

I dove Coron at the end of March. I used a full 3mm and thought it was perfect. If I had to chose between the 3mm shortie and the 5mm full, I'd go with the latter because of the extra protection it offers against nicks and cuts.

ahhhhh warm times are here again.....

a number of us on the weekend were on shorts and t-shirts scuba diving......

just 34 meters ....... min time 45 mins.......

there exists 0.5mm and 1.5mm and the freedom it gives is close to diving in shorts and t-shirts in the WARM WATERS of the philippines ........ok ok Batangas aRea that is....
