You know... I have actually had that similar thing happen to me once... but I wasn't with my girlfriend at the time and had to get my friend to help me. The awkward thing is that it was the top piece to a farmer john, so he had to help me go all the way across the front. Ah... what are good friends for. :)

I bought a box of used wetsuits on _bay last year hoping to salvage one that might fit. I'm 5'8" and 190 with large legs and arms and nothing off the shelf works. One of them was a 3mm large which I was able to get into. But not out of. Zipper worked OK, but I couldn't get my arms and shoulders out of it. Since I live alone and the nearest house is a quarter mile away where an old lady lives I ended up cutting my way out of it. No big monitary loss but it was a nice wetsuit which someone else could have used. So I saved the material in case it could be used for repairs.

Whoa! That was funny stuff! LOL I hope your car doesn't smell like chlorine now! LOL

Very funny story. Thanks for the morning chuckle. Now I'm waiting for the UTube video shot by a neighbor of you wrestling with the suit, chasing that zipper like a dog after it's own tail.:rofl3:

Yet more reasons to get no zipper suits.

I spent the entire winter getting in and out of one of three different suits with back zippers, without any help. The zipper can get stuck in neoprine or velcro. lubricant makes this a non-issue. You still can catch it on the material, but it comes undone easily.

Wildcard:
And that would help with stuck velcro how?
Been there, done that. So Im getting ready for a cold water dive using a wet suit I have not had on in 10 years. I try it on, NBD it still fits fine. Then I decide to pull a vest on over my 7mm Farmerjohn. Great! It works well, EXCEPT that I can now not move my arms and Im frikkin melting inside. I run outside for some relief but still can get the damn this off...Rember when Mel Gibson was trying to get out of the straight jacket in lethal weapon? Ya, that was me.

I have a front, across the chest zippered 7mm semi-dry. The first time I dived with it on I went to the restroom to change out of it,the air was 40f,I could not get the top/arms to come out or down. Finally someone came into the change area and helped. I think diving is the only sport/hobby/situation that it is considered ok to ask another man for help with a zipper or removing said garment.

Thanks for the post. Funny stuff. We have all been there in one respect or another I think.

Mhahahahhaha,
my laugher nerve is a bit sensitive today, but the story is indeed priceless!

:rofl3: :rofl3: :rofl3:

and I love the backward hood.

:rofl3: :rofl3: :rofl3:

I've got a 7mm semi-dry with that same zipper. Argh.... LOL!! If I ever had an emergency where I had to get out of that suit in a hurry, I'd just be out of luck.... :rofl3:

One more reason for me to like my Front zippers :)

Hope you can look back and laugh now. Make you love your wife even more?
