We don't go to Rum Point or GT and most of 7MB for that matter when cruise ships are in. When staying out at the east end, we have enjoyed quiet afternoons after diving at Rum Point on non cruise ship days, but I get your point. I remember when rum point in the 80s and yes a big difference today. But from Westbay it is not worth the hike.

Well, I live in NYC so crowded is a relative term....but we have always enjoyed RP and the sunsets there are delightful! I've never ever seen 100 or 1000 of people there.....
