I guess you guys said it better than I would have. BTW fnfalman do you have an SMB and reel? It might be a good idea to consult someone before trying something you're unfamilair with. I would stick with the advice you get from this thread because obviously where you're getting it from now is not a quality source. Just because someone is an instructor or has logged 3000 dives has almost no relation to how safe or intelligent they are. There are certain people that come to mind that if they reached the millenium mark I still wouldn't want to dive in the same hemishpere as them. It also sounds like you don't have that slight element of fear that keeps many in check, fearlessness leads to carelessness. Do a google search for Mike Dahan accident.
