Hey All,
Looks like a good time plan a weekend dive trip to the "Straits of Mackinac"
This is the deal,we are going to be going some time this summer, date is open at this time,We will be first in St.Ignace on a Friday early A.M.,Then hop a Arnold Ferry to Mackinac Island,The Island is a step back in time if you have not been to before,The kids can have a blast,The women can shop/or dive!We chose to stay at the Murray Hotel, this is on the street from Arnold Transit docks,Rates are $79.00 to $200.00 with great breakfast in the A.M. Rooms are a trip to the past! But rooms can be had much less on St.Ignace/Mackinaw City if you like,

The dive plan is to get a dive Opp out of St.Ignace several to choose from and I have a E-mail into Mark Kistner,Abyss Dive Charters,Straits Scuba Center,To see if folks that opt to stay on Island can hop a ferry to St.Ignace to get their gear and charter.
Will post any feed back as we get it.
So any locals,or folks that would like to get some Great Dives in The Straits Of Mackinac, leave a post! The dates open, the dive boats that I seen last year are 6-packs,
So any one up for a dive?
Brad

Brad,

I can't help you when it comes to timing and catching a ferry back from the island in time for a charter. I would suppose if you 'buy the boat' the charter would depart the dock at your convenience. But it's definitely something to discuss with any charter operator.

I will say that I really like diving off of the Rec Diver, Straits SCUBA's charter boat. She takes more than six divers and is a good option for people that aren't chartering the entire boat. & there's lots of room on the boat!

Do have fun!

I'd have some interest in returning to the Straits. A holiday weekend and having carpool options would make it even nicer on the pocketbook. Its a long drive solo, and the explorer drinks alot....

I don't need any fancy-schmancy hotel - just give me a 5'10" section of floor and I'll be fine...

Thanks Paula for the Option, hope we can pull a good weekend out of the hat!
