Ok now I know some of you do not want or need the stuff but I like it.

I would like to know if anyone has found any truly waterproof mascara?

The problem I've found with a waterproof mascarra is that they are so very drying. I've thought about having my eyelashes dyed just prior to a trip. Oh, the things we're willing to do to look good on a dive trip. I just did the BIG shave job and painted my toe nails for a trip I'm leaving on tomorrow.

Stay beautiful,
SWT

I just hate the racoon eyes when the wm does not work like it should!

Look for Waterproof sign on the package. Comes in 3 colors - black, soft black and brown

Stays put, no racoon eyes. You do need a dual phase eye make up remover to take it off. I like Bi-Facil (sp?) by Lancome

is made by shu uemura. I got mine at Sephora....I'm sure you can buy it at sephora.com. I've gone diving, been through teary weddings...you name it....and this mascara has gone through it all with no racoon eyes in sight.

I have had my lashes dyed and curled as well....Getting it done wasn't a picnic...but I did like the effects. I was told that it's illegal to do in the US though (got mine done while I was in Port in Mexico).

Peace,
Cathie

But this is the one I have

http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P8124

When my best friend got married, she had her makeup done at Sephora by a representative of one of the makeup companies a few days before the wedding....we asked her what her recomdation was for a good waterproof mascara, and this was her recomendation.... and the shu uemura was what she recomended.

What really convinced me to buy it (because it was far more than I had ever spent on mascara before) was the fact that she didn't work for shu uemura and her company also had a waterproof mascara for sale there.

I haven't regretted it yet.

Peace,
Cathie

It's legal here- my sister-in-law just did it in Aug for her wedding with beautiful results. It took about 10-15 min and cost $35 dollars. it actually lasted a couple months (she also did her eyebrows- they turned out great!)

I live on Long Island, and I've found a place here that offers eyelash tinting (I guess that's the same as dying) for $38. I've never tried this before, but I've been toying with the idea for a while. I think I'll give it shot before my trip to Bonaire this spring (provided I can get it done in brown - I'm a redhead and black eyelashes look incredibly stupid on me). It would be heaven to not have to mess with mascara!
