I'm guessing this may be more related to the presence of the three "Blobs" or warm water masses located off the West Coast of North America. They have been impacting us here in SoCal for the past 18 months or so. To the best of my knowledge the El Nino predicted to hit us hasn't really entered the region much yet.

Thanks for the information. I've been watching this trend develop since last year when I noticed unusually high temps on my dive computer. It'll be interesting to see how the 2015 temperatures finish out and what the El Nino waters do in the coming months. I have data back to 2005, which does not include an El Nino year.
