I'm pretty sure the Lois Ann doesn't allow overnights. Its not that big of a boat. In fact I don't even think it has bunks.

Well, there might be other boats in SD that would be available. Somewhere here, there's a way to get a list of boats with their websites, phone numbers, and schedules. (I'm on a new computer, so my bookmarks aren't up to date yet).

DiveTickets.com - Buy Dive Tickets Online The Humboldt may have bunks but its not running quite yet. The Lois Ann and Marissa do not do have bunks.

You can also look into DCI Scuba Diving San Diego - Dive Boats - Scuba Tours - Daily Boat Dives - Dive Connections Inc. San Diego CA Home Page As far as I know they don't have bunks either.

Horizon does have bunks and lets you stay over night Horizon Charters: Baja and California Eco & Dive Adventures
It looks like they're doing a liveaboard while you're here. If you can get on that I think you'd have a great time.

We might be able to get enough people together to do a night dive on the Marissa on the 30th. Maybe the Yukon, great at night. Let me know what you'd like to do and I'll see how I can help you out.

Thanks for all the good info. Right now I am thinking of trying to drive in the night before and stay somewhere nearby.
It would be great to get as many dives in as possible during my short stay. If it works out I will contact you Glycerin and Shakazulu closer to the dive date if you want to do some shore dives together.
Looking forward to some sunny California weather right now. Snowing and sleeting here in Ohio.

There are links to information for over 25 shore dives in San Diego County here.

I hope that helps you get an idea of what a variety of shore dives would be like in San Diego County.

You're in good hands with Glycerin and ShakaZulu, who are a couple of people I enjoy diving with when I'm in the area. Hopefully, we'll get to see them both at the Wrinkles Dive and BBQ at La Jolla Shores on Jan. 12th.

Huh? Wrinkles dive & BBQ??? OK, I am starting to get that paranoid feeling. I can't find a post on it. It's not even on the calendar...or maybe it's just not visible to ME! hmm.....

The Yukon and Ruby E are the most popular wrecks in SD. They were sunk for divers so they have been cleaned up and provide few wreck diving thrills. Still they are fun to dive and many people enjoy them.

Scuba Diving San Diego - Dive Boats - Scuba Tours - Daily Boat Dives - Dive Connections Inc. San Diego CA Home Page is a site that has boats that will bring you there. Just show up in the morning and they will take care of you.

California Dive Boats : The Official Page is a source that provides all the destinations and ways to get there.
