They'd have to go through several really low sidemount restrictions that require digging in and out, then a nomount situation through a hole that may not open up to allow a turnaround... Then you get to gear back up, and navigate all those digger restrictions again, blind(due to all the fine silt now in the water column), and without a line, which is trapped off to the sides in impassible cave. This is all in 160' depth and they don't have helium onsite.
There aren't many among us who have the capability to feed that kinda curiosity.

Just another example that cheap doesn't belong in tech diving. If you can't afford to do it, stay home. I know I've had to sit out a few dives I would like to have done because of the cost. I could have done it cheaper, but not right.

maybe nobody would sell it to him knowing what dives he was doing? i'd like to think that, anyway.

Thats a good thought, but I'm betting no one had a clue. I dunno how busy Vortex is during a weekday when this guy was there. Even when I've been in there on a weekend and it's crowded with a bunch of people, when we wandered back to the gate, there weren't many people back in the cave itself.
He probably had the place pretty much to himself to work on getting around the lock mechanism with no one else being the wiser to where he was or what he was doing.
