There's your problem, Frank. As soon as you got the Nitrox, you went cold-turkey on the caffeine! :D

Haha...

Your headache could have been a few things: slight sinus block, cold, neck-strain/ache, lack of caffeine ;)

Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself, got another card, and made it home safe!

PS Just seen your note about the other people - a "tainted" fill would be a common denominator.

Thanks! Yeah... It was pretty uncanny. Add to that, the fact that as soon as we got out, the people next to us had fired up the barbecue, and the wind was sending this great cloud of smoke from burning charcoal and lighter fluid over us... *BLEARGH!!!!!*

Within fifteen minutes of breathing GOOD, CLEAN air, all of us felt better.

Well,

There's another reason for me not to dive at Vortex. Bad fills. Did they reimburse you for nearly killing you? Or just offer you a free fill?

Neither. Just thanked me for letting them know, and said that they would check out their O2.

When I first came out of the water, I felt really REALLY bad. In addition to the headache, I had an all-over malaise. Just... That awful feeling of, "I really don't feel right at all...."

Sounds kinda CO2 like.

Jeff, I was thinking the same thing. However, with other divers having similar complaints.... I'd stay FAR away from that place for fills.

Darn few locals dive Vortex, for good reasons.
