My answer here is the same as my answer elsewhere. I have done ONE. I would do it again. My criteria for doing a visual jump are that it should be extremely easy to find a line in zero viz, and ANY line I find should bring me out within my gas supply. There aren't very many places that fit that description.

If I scootered in caves with very high flow, I might eventually change my stance . . . but I doubt it. David Rhea, who taught my C2 class, says he's the object of some ribbing from his friends, because he runs a reel or spool everywhere, every time. If it's good enough for David, it's good enough for me.
 
my answer's the same, too. i won't say i'd never do it in other circumstances, but i'll say the risk:benefit is sooo stacked toward 'risk' that it's likely i never will.
 
How do you "verify" and do you consider it a one time deal? i.e. once you've decided you can VJ, is that implied for subsequent dives or do you "verify" it again?

If the lines are in the same general place in the cave, and I did the "test" with a basic level of ease... Then I count it as verified unless there is a major change in the line placement.
