20 - 30 feet of visibility at Tyee Cove this morning. Seemed to be a lot of particulate in the water, especially above 50 feet. Reports from other divers indicate it was the same at Madrona Point yesterday. Perhaps it is a delayed effect of all the rain we had.

Between 30 and 40 feet of visibility at Oak Point yesterday. We originally planned to dive at Dolphin, but the wind speed and direction resulted in a change of plans. Wind speed and direction may affect diving for the next few days... Not looking good right now.

When you are diving please make sure to watch for ling cod egg masses, and report your findings to the Vancouver Aquarium. They have been doing a ling cod egg mass survey for a number of years. Here is the link: Vancouver Aquarium :: Lingcod Egg Mass Survey

Visibility continues to be in the 30 - 40 foot range, better as you get deeper. Lots of wind recently that has stirred up the shallower areas a bit.

We were out at Tyee this morning. Visibility has dropped to 20 - 30 feet in the shallows, but remains okay below 60 feet.

The herring run is on  and the fish boats are out  which will muck up the water for a few weeks. Hopefully the fish boats stay north of Parksville, and away from the majority of our dive sites.

We were out at Oak Point this morning. Visibility has dropped to 10 - 20 feet. :( We got as deep as 104 feet, and the visibility had not really cleared up - looking up most of the natural light was being filtered out - a dive light was a necessity. Water is warming up - plants in the shallows are really starting to grow, and there appeared to be lots of plankton and algae. Hopefully this period of poor visbility does not last too long - I don't like braille diving o_O

Dive safe !!
