I'm seconding Nancy's post - I moved out of Lovers Key because I couldn't stand the effects of Red Tide being in the passes to the north and south of the park anymore. It not only effected my health but that of my wife and children. Being off island now for 2 weeks has made a HUGE difference!!! Which sucks because I enjoyed living there.

Oceandvr, thanks for the info. I guess from what I read on the sites you listed that the "strange actions" may just be the fish/sharks dieing from the tide. Very sad. I hope Venice isn't effected too badly this year.

I'm hoping it's as good next weekend. I tested out our dive teams agas this past weekend in the pool, and want to try them out under real world circumstances, but am not ready for blackwater in them yet.

Bad news is, we had our first flotilla of dead snook today. With deep outgoing tides and a southwest wind we may have just had bad luck on drift. There still isn't much olfactory evidence of red tide at the beach. The next few days should bring more information.

I am planning on diving Alhambra on Thursday - I'll post a trip report.
