Every time I log on I get brow beaten for not posting a thread, so here goes!!!

Rarely get down to Venice these days, but a long time ago it was a somewhat regular stop--had a friend (read--place to crash) who lived there back then. Anyway, in keeping with the title of this post:

To who (or should that be whom??) does the name Sarge Williamson ring a bell?---and if so, why?

Now for the bonus prize: (mainly for those of you who dove from the public beach), who was the "Old Beachcomer"? Hint--he lived across the street from the public beach, in unit #13.

There are no prizes for correct answers---just the stirring up of some fond memories from a time long ago.
