I hope y'all don't mind but I invited a dear friend of mine to tag along...she and her 8-year-old twins, a boy and a girl, love snorkeling and it would be SOOOO great for them to attend a nice family event like this.

Theresa, she's coming in her own car and following us because I don't have room for her and her kids and all her stuff. If she comes without the kids (she is working out the custody weekend thing), she'll just ride with us.

Wish I could join you guys, but I have to be on a FRIGGIN CRUISE. God, I hate cruises, but my wife claims they keep her sane.

Criuses=cattle boats+vacation divers. Moooooooo

Should I plan on bringing tanks, or is there a LDS that is open in the immediate area before 0800 that morning? Plans aren't firm yet, but I may be staying in Tampa Friday night and driving the remaining 80ish miles that morning.
If there is a good shop for air, what are their daily rates for tanks? How many tanks/dives do you guys normally do on an average day like this? And finally, where exactly will this shindig be taking place? I have seen mentions of Alhambra and other spots in VB, but nothing in this thread (unless I missed it).

I will have to find out what time that shop opens, as well as what their rates are.

Alahambra is the place :multi:

:rofl3: :rofl3: sorry, DiverSolo, truly. We will think of you though ;) We could make a rescue attempt, if you would like. My bf is known as Hasselhoff :rofl2:

Are you kidding? The more the better. Sounds like the kids are going to have a really fun group. Very nice :)

Thanks Tracy, they are good kids and my friend is going through a horrid divorce and this would be a fantastic day for them. They know how to snorkel and I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to find a bunch of toofs to give them. I just hope she can get them that day, it is "his" day. If not, she needs to come hang out with some nice people regardless.

Diversolo, I feel your pain. I hate cruises too...and I've never even been on them. I liken them to being trapped at the mall for several days. No thank you!

Question, will anyone be making two dives? Should I drag two tanks over or is one sufficient?

I still want to know...will anyone else have a kayak? I hate to drag it from coast to coast if I'll be the only one.
