My wife and I are coming from Nanaimo for a trip to Salem OR on Easter weekend to pick up a package. (turns out its about the same amount to ship as it is to go and get it including hotel stays)
We plan to be back in Seattle on Friday evening and could use some info on a cheap (not too cheap) hotel/motel thats not too far from a dive site.
We'd like to find a shop to rent some tanks (unless we bring our own) and do 1 or 2 shore dives on Saturday before heading back home.
Any info would be most appreciated.

Thanks very much

Gerald

Just thought I'd add some more clarification. We don't 'need' to be in Seattle for the Saturday dives. Anywhere in the surrounding area is fine. We have never been down that way so it will be a new experience no matter where we dive. I just chose Seattle as it was close enough to back to from Oregon on Friday night.

:D

You could do worse than Edmonds Underwater Park, just north of Seattle. There is a lot to see there, and a dive shop is nearby.

I don't know about hotels in that area but I'm sure there is something.

I've stayed at the LaQuinta in Federal Way a few times when staying up there to dive Redondo. They have average rooms, pool & hot tub, exercise equipment, good breakfast included, and they take pets (sometimes important for me). It's less than 10 minutes to the dive site and Redondo is a very nice place to dive where you don't need to worry much about current. Any level of diver can dive there-you can go deepish or stay shallow and still see a lot of stuff including a VW Bug!
If you need to rent tanks, TL Sea is just down the street. Let me know if you decide to go there and I can give you more specifics.
