I pin the packing list to the lining of the luggage and sometimes I even photograph that too. I have never had anything missing from my luggage.

That's brilliant, Bratface, both for up-front deterrence and potential loss claims. My practice has been to have nothing in checked bags that I can't live without, and certainly nothing of value to anyone other than me. If I ever do pack anything someone could be inclined to steal, I'm going to use your technique.

just saw nightline on how TS@ sees interesting things in their xray and takes it out of their bag and then to their home. And it is almost impossible to claim it back unless it is something like an ipad where users could use the find my ipad feature.
