What are your favorite ways of getting your buddies' attention? Tank Banger? Duck? Aluminum tube rattler?

It seems like the duck would be the best deal, but then it takes up the spot for a surface horn.

Electric cattle prod. :D
The salt water gives it much better conductivity than on land.

All jokes aside, the Sub-Duck does a pretty good job.

I use a plastic rattler that works pretty well when I can find it. I need a pocket on my bc so I always know where it is. I find the need for a rattle etc. varies with the diving partner.

I try to stay close enough to be able to touch to get his attention but sometimes i'm a bit further I either swim over or the old fist in the palm clapping trick

Light. I use my light. We're never far enough away to need a noisemaker. If light isn't working (too bright in the water) I'll simply swim over and place my hand on their calf.

But its been a long, long time since I've not been able to get buddy's attention with a slow pass of the light.

I seem to never hear things underwater. People always talk about hearing loud boats but I can't hear them. I don't know why but I seem to filter things out. I try and stay within reaching distance of my buddy at all times.

At least for some there's no problem chaining them together, though you may want to get a shorter inflator hose if you do it. I haven't found the duck thing that useful though.
