The Equinox worked great on the wide shots, and shooting RAW for the unfiltered macro shots allowed great color correction in iPhoto. The boat shots shot WITH the filter looked incredibly orange, I couldn't believe that I could balance them back in post.

Overall I'd say the filter is nice to have so you can see decent results immediately in jpeg, and also to minimize the tweaking needed after import, but if you are shooting RAW and don't mind a little post-production. I am not sure it's worth the cost. YMMV.

Thanks Frank, much appreciate the comment and all of the invaluable help! One of my favorites was the blenny. I was inspired by your avatar to wait him out. Some of them would pop right out if you tapped near their hole, but that little guy was super skittish.
