I'm a Fish!
Hi all, sitting at the Mango Inn waiting for a drink and thought I'd post a thread while the net is "up".
Well the moon is full, the weather has been perfect, and although the whale sharks have not made an appearance the diving has been great. Lots of cool stuff in the past two days. Many different seahorses, rays, huge spotted drums, and even a manta today on the south side near the lighthouse.
Had to let you know the diving is still very good here. I was nervous after reading a previous post and thought I'd ease the suspicions of anyone heading to Utila who had read the post.
Of course, Utila is different from Cayman or Cozumel or the Keys. But it is charming in it's own way and the diving doesn't disappoint.
Will post a trip report at the end of the week but just wanted to shout out and say hi!

We're very jealous of you right about now! Definitely post a report, and enjoy the island! If you get a chance, swing over to a bar called La Cueva and say howdy to Josue for us!

I've been wondering how its going sorry to hear no whale sharks hopefully before you leave. I hope the manta's stiil around in a couple of weeks that would be about as good as a whale shark. Glad you are having a good time I can't wait 11 more days!
Did you fly over from San Pedro Sula and how where the flights?
Can't wait to hear the rest of your report.
Greg

LaCuda and I enjoyed seeing you at the Mango.....we're looking forward to dinner together. Is Friday about 6:00 PM doable at RJ's?

By the way there was a whale shark near Blackish Point this morning around 9:30AM.

Regards,

Be there on Wednesday for 11 great days. Look for the yellow boat named "Down Time".

How have the seas been? Flat? Reasonably calm? Making it around to the North Side pretty routinely?

Cheers.

We've had some wind, rain and really beautiful weather over the last few weeks. Whale shark sightings have been nigh to nil until today. The diving continues to be good.

Regards,

Thanks. Hope to catch up with you all.

Hi Guys,

Whalesharks yesterday over by Raggedy Cay (sp?).
Yippee-Yahooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Know our guests are happy campers.
Will post the details to UL chatboard once Dr. Rob/WSORC gives me the report.

Drop a note to those whalesharks to come back in about 5 days, when I get a chance to see them!

Anyone on the board, I'll be at the Mango Inn the 1st-10th, stop and say HI. Oh, I believe there is a big group of photographers also staying the 3rd-10th.. I'll be the one with only a cheap UW camera.

Had another encounter yesterday. 18' Whale Shark, gender unknown. It did have a WSORC visual tag on it, but none of the guests were able to get a clear read of the tag number.
