Finally got done processing my Utila dives, except for the night dive that I can't seem to find on any of my cards. Awesome week at Deep Blue Utila. Steve, Jasmine and Shirley kept us fed and diving all day every day. Utila has a beautiful reef, marked with a mooring line about every 100 yards all the way around the Island. There are no bad ones. Most include some shallow reef and fall off to at least 80-100 feet. Some keep going to over 2000 feet (and I swear, you could almost see the bottom). The water was a constant 82 degrees, and vis ranged from a slightly cloudy 30-50, and average of about 70-100 and in the deep Ocean areas, 2-300 feet of clear blue water. Amazing variety of Corals, hard and soft, Sponges, and Critters from tiny to Pelagic Giants. And we got a Whale Shark-out of season-but not till the 4th day. Here's a fair sampling of what we saw on day one. Sites were Big Rock, Teds Point and Black Coral Wall.

Thanks Jason. All the dives had plenty to see-no sterile reefs there. Our divemaster, Matt had been there for several years and was really good at finding us the rare stuff as well.

Great Pics...maybe that will be my next destination.

Thanks RTW, Andy, Gil and Marc.

Thanks Ken.
