One thing I would add -- GUE-F, at least when I took it, did not include any bottle-handling skills. UTD Intro to Tech does, so if you are going straight to T1, you might consider asking your instructor to spend a day with you before the class some time, to go over those skills and get some practice in. My T1 buddy and I went out, not with an instructor but with trained buddies, and did this several times before our class and it was definitely helpful.
