Welcome to ScubaBoard!

I've started to see more people from Utah join the board lately, so you should be able to find buddies. If you folks from Utah can band together you might want to start a Club Forum for Utah! I think that they like to see about 10 - 15 people interested to start a new forum.

Dive safe!

I am in Utah too. There are 6 of us here. I did Blue Lake during the algae bloom. Pretty bad. I would like to try it again when viz is not so poor. We were told that Maple Lake was cool. It was, I guess, :icon5: but only about 8-12 ft deep. I was disappointed.

We do most of our diving when on vacation. The stuff around here just does not compare. But, when time goes by and you start wishing you were under water, you will break down and try any lake around. We are doing Strawberry when we get back from Coz. Our dive op is putting on a crawfish fest. So, incase you are disappointed with the diving, maybe the social and the food after will have you walk away with good feelings? I have heard several divers say they like it there. I have heard that Powell is not too good, Lake Mead is supposed to be one of the better ones. Deer Creek gets alot of divers too. Since they have been draining it, you are supposed to be able to see the foundations of old homes the dam covered over.

I am very new to diving. I certified at the Homestead Crater in November of 2003 with my younger brother. So far we have been to Bonneville Seabase twice. I am hoping to do Blue Lake soon. I want to dive in Lake Powell but from what I have heard it is not that great.

I would love to meet new dive buddies or tag along with any other Utahn's who know of other places to go nearby.
I'm also from Utah and have been too Blue Lake many times. Last weekend we have 30ft of Viz and had a great time. PM me and we'll see if we can get you and your brother out there.
