RiverRat:
This stuff should be taught from the beginning IMHO.

Right you are. The problem lie in how we sell scuba courses. No one asks "will I be able to share air off a long hose while hovering motionless after this course" they invariably ask "how much" or sometimes "how long will it take" so a properly trained diver is a much harder sell. They just want to get in the water, and any (insert agency here) instructor can tell them "we have a great safety record" or "safer than bowling".
It is only with experience that we learn the reality

As far as I can tell this thread and most like it are just the converted preaching to themselves. I'm not addressing whether it's a good or bad idea. It seems like some people need a big group hug everyday to reaffirm their actions. Why is this?

Hmmm... feeling left out?

Here ya go.... :hug2:

:D

Finally someone with a sense of humor:)

The intent of this thread was to create an awareness amongst divers that don't use a long hose, that you don't need to be a tech diver, to utilize this tool.

In other words it works the best in all recreational diving situations, not just in a cave or inside a wreck.

ROFL. The guy is even wearing splits. I'd love to hear the story behind this one.

I never said that you don't need to learn how to use it and that you don't need to practice s drills with it. What I did say though is that it isn't rocket science to learn how to use.

Hey everyone NOVA is BACK. Let the party begin. Oh sorry - got to leave to go diving today. I'm out a here. Have fun!
