In his off time from diving he probably confers with president bush on a regular basis and has one of those secret black boxes under his bed. Dont dare ask what is in the box cause he could tell you, but he would have to kill you first.

Well...to give him some credit...I could easily envision someone wearing a 7 ft hose...just because it looks techy. I found that when I was doing warm water wimp diving...the 7 ft was a PITA...and I went to a 40in hose and that was much nicer YMMV.Dryglove:Nova kinda strikes me as the "been there, done that" type of diver. I really like my long hose set up and have been trained on it but not by the best instructors in the world....oh well, my loss

Just want to add that using the long hose/bungee back-up, takes away that big loop (entanglement hazard) sticking off the right side of a dives head the standard 28" hose creates. The long hose has so many more benefits than those you preach. You don't have to admit to it as I (and everyone else) knows you won't. You need some people skills bad. I've yet to see you in a thread that you did not come in and create disharmony.

Right on the money Mike. I started to adopt Hog/DIR principles in my "rec" setup before I even knew what Hog/DIR was. I went with a FredT BP/W right away because every thing he and other SB members told me made perfect sence. And they all had documentation/knowledge to prove it. I took what I learned, applied it, practiced and proved them all right and the LDS puppets wrong. The local LDS puppets told me all of this stuff was for "technical" divers, you don't need it, it will kill you, yada, yada, yada. I plan on some more mods such a 5ft. hose (maybe longer) and bungied octo very soon. Problem is I just don't know "what" category diver I am now
I do "recreational" dives, but I have a "technical" rig. Maybe I'll take Advanced Nitrox or something so when someone looks at me weird I can say I'm a tech diver Similar threads
