I don't know what Halocline's solution is, but that reg is not only unsafe, but a bio hazard. I'll be happy to pay for shipping to my location so I can dispose of it properly.

Seriously, If your not selling it to Halocline and don't want to keep it, PM me as I would be interested in buying it.

By the way, that's a MK9, the same as a MK10 without the swivel-it's a great regulator.

Your "tech" is a salesman.

me thinks he (your "tech", and I cautiously use that term for him) can't (or won't) get SP parts..... It would take an awful lot to make that a paperweight only...... find someone in the know - like the folks here....

Send it to me....

Yeah, a MK9, not much that can go wrong inside. Since you've had enough offers for disposal, I make a different one: fly me over first class, all expense paid, and I'll fix it for you.:D

Yep, MK9. I did offer to buy it or trade it. I wonder if the 'tech' somehow got confused by the lack of a turret and thought that it was a 'missing ambient chamber', hence the diagnosis 'won't depth compensate.' :shakehead:

Below are the pictures from the OP.

That is a good looking first stage.

I am not sure what to think about the tech… I am not impressed.

In any case, I really like the non-swivel feature of that regulator. I used to really like the swivel on the MK-5 back when the only thing attached to it was one second stage and a pressure gauge. With an alternate second stage and an LP inflator hose I find the swivel to be a hassle. I end up using a tie-strap between the HP hose and the LP inflator hose to keep the swivel from turning.

I am sure you have had plenty of offers for it already, but if you like the swivel, I would be glad to trade you a nice MK-10 (freshly serviced, I will re-built it) for that first stage… I will even pay shipping both ways. If you like DIN connection, I can include that also. :D

Or, just have it serviced (by a competent tech ) and dive it.

OK, Usual Suspects, I guess we'll have to arm wrestle.....

I'll swap you a MK20 for that MK9.......anytime.....and pay for shipping both ways.

Do not eliminate the possibility that you are dealing with an adequately competent tech who is also a thief. That is a fairly hard to find regulator that he may be trying to add to his corral.

I doubt that's the case, but I like to think people are fundamentally good at heart.
