Used Oceanic reg

Hi all,

I have the opportunity to buy, from a dive buddy, an Oceanic CDX5 1st stage, with a GT3 primary 2nd stage and an Alpha 8 octo. He says it's got less than 60 dives on it, and was serviced last year. Gauge comsole isn't included. He's offering it to me for $225. Is it a good deal? I've never owned Oceanic. I've read some on these and they get good reviews. I also just saw the recall. I haven't gotten a chance to ask him if it's one of the involved units.

You can buy a new regulator and octo for just a bit more and it has no dives and a full warranty....

Does the reg set need service before you can/will to use it? If not, it is a fair price. If service is needed, then I won't get it. Serving a set like this can easily cost $120. All of sudden, you are looking at price of new reg
