At: http://www.scubaboard.com/drupal/?q=content/scuba-agencies

It's now divided into several parts, separately listing agencies that provide initial training from those that provide only tech training, etc.

With the new version, you can see there are 50 independent scuba certifying agencies that provide entry-level training. Counting CMAS and CEDIP affiliates there are 70 more.

Also listed: a dozen tech-only agencies, eight each public safety and research agencies, and several miscellaneous.

The final section lists agencies for which I have been unable to find websites. Any help appreciated.

I gave up on special characters, resulting in slightly anglicized names of agencies that use them.

more than I'd thought!

You have IANTD - International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers under 1B, CMAS affiliates. Is that intentional? I thought they were a tech agency...

you have FQAS in the section of "providing initial training for recreational diving", but I'm not sure that's the best place for them, since as far as i know, they DO NOT provide any training. In order to get an FQAS permit (yes, permit, not c-card), you need to do a short test (i think it was 10 multiple choice questions) and possibly one checkout dive (not entirely sure because I got mine when I got my OW). Certifying agency is listed on the card and you must have an OW c-card from somebody in order to get an FQAS card, which basically says "You can dive in Quebec up to whatever certification level you told us you have. (depth limits, eg)"

Thanks for keeping this list updated. I appreaciate it.

There are 10 kinds of people, those who understand binary and those who don't... just don't tell me you have 110010 psi left.

My SPG isn't that precise.

Thank you. I got the CMAS info from the CMAS website, but I do not see a back reference in the IANTD site, so good catch ! I have moved IANTD to section 1A.

.
Why 1A and not 2?
This URL:
IANTD IAND rebreathers Scuba Dive Training Agency Nitrox EANx Trimix Oxygen Rebreather Cave Wreck IANDT IAND decompression, scuba diver
says
IANTD Is The World's Largest Scuba Diving Training Organization Of Open Water, Nitrox, Enriched Air, . . .

And scroll down to the second page at this URL:
http://www.iantd.com/IANTD course breakdown.pdf
It appears here that they offer an Open Water Diver / Nitrox Diver course, and the fourth page says it is offered to lay people.

Thank you !

Keep the corrections coming.

You're welcome. It's been a mini-obsession for me.
