I'm looking at getting a tablet (android or windows), but I was wondering if there would be a case that would be suitable for underwater use.

And I'm not looking for one that is that plastic vinyl wrap but, a solid case.

It is for research purposes.

I've seen somewhere in internet a solid plstic case for iPad.
Google search for it.

Lifeproof makes a good one, just remember that the design of these is usually a flexible sheet of thin plastic over the screen to allow touch operation. Once the pressure increases underwater the film presses down over the whole screen making touch operations inconsistent and eventually impossible.

These guys have a solution, it allows air to be injected during the dive, think drysuit for the ipad, but it costs 1000$ so there's that:

I' ve bought a very cheap UW bag for my smartphone a few days ago.
As soon as the bag is under the surface, the touch screen of the phone gets inconsistent. Over the surface they work ok, but once under water, it gets impossible to use.
