I have been with a wonderful wonderful women for almost 2 years now and it is finally time to pop the question.

I have only been diving once, but am going with a group of Jr. Highers on the 15th to an indoor facility to dive again.

Needless to say I decided to get engaged at the scuba diving event.

A couple of friends are helping me out. We are currently making 8" inch dive sticks out of PVC Piping with sealed caps on the end. We are painting them Yellow, Blue, Red, Gold, or Silver.

As far as the popping the big question.....we are going to play agame with the Jr. Highers that involves my girlfriend. The 2 teams will race to the bottom of the pool, grab the dive sticks, and the come to the top, open the pipe to reveal what is inside. At the end of the relay, my girlfriend will dive down to the bottom grab her (Specialy Marked) dive stick....them come to the top....and when opeing her dive stick find her ring in the ringbox. Then I am going to get on a knee and ask her to be my wife.....I think she wil say yes....:)

There is a man from church who has volunteered to come and video tape the whole thing.

My girlfriend has no idea that it is coming.....but she is very excitied about going diving for the first time. Hopefully see will like it as much as I do....then we can plan a Honeymoon with diving in mind!

If any of you have an ideas or suggestions to help me pull this off it would be greatly appreciated!!

Congrats! Sounds like a wild idea.

Just be sure you have the ring insured with your home owners before you do any of it!
I have mine insured and it was very reasonable ..like 25.00 a year.

Why is this in the Non-Diving Related Stuff forum?

Hope she says yes!

If you were in the PNW you could have Uncle Pug do the wedding U/W:D

Natasha,

Thanks for the idea....I will look into that first thing tomorrow. I had not even thought of that yet!!

Uncle Pug,

I am brand new and really did not know where to post it. If you think it would be better to post this thread somewhere else...let me know!!!

Hopefully i will be able to get some pictures and will post them up!!

I am pretty sure she will say Yes.....at least I hope...hehehe

I wish I could be in the pool watching....:)

I hope all goes well for you...as for a honeymoon....I suggest Cozumel or something along those lines....

UP- Why did I shutter at the idea of you wedding two people...

Jep- You need help...

I need help....but help is arriving soon as my trip is coming up.

Best therapy I know...ok, i take that back, the 2nd best therapy I know.

Souds great! But, I have a question. Is racing to the bottom of a pool and hurrying back to the surface the best thing to be doing in scuba? Kind of contrary to what we want to be teaching new divers, isn't it?
