What is this SEA HUNT. The only time I turn off someones air is in the pool so they really know what it feels like to be out of air. Then I immediately turn it back on.

anyone that thinks it will be fun turn off my air while underwater better move fast on land as they wont be standing for too long.

unnecessary skills during OW add stress to a student... if you want to drill them take them for a dive after OW certification and tell them you will be doing it at some point but not during cert dives UNLESS the licensed and insured INSTRUCTOR carries out the skill.

DM are allowed to carry out some skills but not all skills

TheRedHead:
The quarry closed last year due to bankruptcy of the owners, but it is being reopened this summer. Check the Dixie Divers forum and you'll find all the info. 53 feet is the deepest I've been able to find in that quarry. Most of it is 35-45 feet deep and in the mid 70s top to bottom. There is part of a space shuttle mock-up down there too.

Shame about the owners, who is going to reopen it?

try toypedos.

Or here's real novelty (our DM did it on our OW course.)...if your DI will allow it, try helping them practice some buoyancy skills.

Toypedos are good in the pool, but can cause problems in open water. Ya really want to keep everyone together!

suggestions to amuse students - take a elcheapo camera and take photos of them... get them to take photos of eachother!!

Of course I bring a camera. I post pictures of the students training on my website. For a small fee, I take them down LOL.

Thanks for the fun(evil) suggestions. Keep em coming!!

Have a tic-tac-to tournament on a Magnadoodle. Loser has to do fin-tip pushups in front of everyone.

Bring along some gummy worms. Don't tell them it is candy. Pretend you spotted them swimming along. Then impress them as you down one after the other.
