I tried to order some of these octopus holders (among other things) from a place in Spain. They held up my entire order since it included a $1.74 Scubapro mouthpiece clamp and they won't ship Scubapro to the US. I ordered 2 weeks ago but they decided not to tell me until I emailed them for a tracking number. I don't think there's any way they can get this stuff to us in time for an upcoming trip, but I do like the octo holders. They're sort of like the Dive Rite ones, but I prefer the zippy colors of these. If anyone has an idea where to find these in the US I'd be grateful. It's supposedly made by "Best Divers," but they seem to have the same stuff as Innovative and several other US labels. Here's a link:

(Thanks, DIR guys; I know octos and clips are evil and that the only salvation lies in diving a long hose and necklace, thus no need for this gizmo. Thanks, too, to those who champion a snorkel retainer or other solution. I'm already using a homemade bungee that gets double-larksheaded. It's just that I'm looking for this very particular gadget.)

Is this it?

If you can't find one here, you can make your own. One of the companies that makes a bunch of the snaps and clips and such, makes one with a brass ring where the tubing is on the one you found. Simply remove brass ring, tie a loop of that surgical-tubing stuff, and hide the knot under the nylon webbing.

If you're thinking it's the same thing as the Dive Rite one, but with snappier colors, I think they may be different. Bolt snap vs. suicide clip. Shock cord vs. ??.

I'm pretty certain I said "sort of like," not "the same thing as." The general configuration of a snap clip, short bit of webbing, and stretchy ring, instead of scumball or whatever, was the major point. I actually prefer the ring of surgical tubing over bungee, and a "suicide clip" doesn't bother me in the least.
