Cavalero was also famous in France, for designing around 1988 the "Océane", a remarketing of a BCD originally made for combat divers. Left civilian version (unfortunately fitted with a Scubapro inflator), right NC version.
It was never really popular, but had it followers. Never dived one myself. Until a few years back, it was still in use among the Gendarmerie divers.
