Looking opinions on these two computers (I know they are the same). If you use one and like it, let me know. If you use one and hate it, let me know. I was reading a thread on TDS where there were a lot of people having to return their Dive Rite Duos and I was kind of wondering if the Tusa versions were any less failure prone.
Thanks.

We have not had to take a return on a single Tusa one. We have both, but don't sell many of the Dive Rite as they don't come with the scratch protector... Sold some to folks that have to have Dive Rite on the label... But haven't sold enough of those to see any troubles there either.

Do you have a description of what kind of trouble they are having?? The national sales manager from TUSA is coming to our store tomorrow and I'll ask if he's heard anything.

I have an IQ 700 and I love it - I have about 35 dives on it. I would recommend getting the computer upload thingie as one of the coolest features is the ability to print your dive data out. I use the print out as logbook pages.

I've got a Tusa IQ-700 (actually 2 if you count my wife's) that I bought from Larry. It performs well. A bit conservative on ascent rates at times, but, thats good because it makes me go up even slower. Oh, we've got about 40 dives (all air) on them. They've worked well in Roatan and Bonaire.

I have an Apeks Quantum, which is another variation of the Seiko computer. I'm very happy with it. I also have a download cable which I'm, similarly happy with. The computer supports two gas mixes, which I use on occasion. Few, if any, other computers in the price range have that capability.

is the cressi sub aracimidie the same as the iq700 and then nitec?
Actually... no. The Cressi is a single gas instead of a two gas... and they didn't have software for downloading the last time I checked. They also don't have anywhere near the Tusa customer service, or warranty.

actually the new Cressi ArchemedesII is probably the same computer as he Tusa / Nitek Duo/ Apeks. Yes it is a 2 gas computer 21% - 50% gas 1, 21% - 99% gas 2. So there all probably the same computer and it may just come down to which one you can get for less.

I have a TUSA IQ-700 and have had zero problems with it - I dive it alongside my (now backup) Dive Rite NiTek 3. It works great for me.

I have not seen any posts for the TUSA IQ-700 experiencing problems like the Dive Rite NiTek Duo and Apeks Quantum so far. Larry, I put a couple of post links below for you to check out - I'd like to know what the TUSA national sales manager may have to say on the topic - but I'd be almost as interested to hear what Dive Rite and Apeks representatives have to say on the topic.
