I am in serious packing mode, as of today. Somehow putting new batteries in my dive computer brought it all into focus.

Hasta en el agua,
You got it. I'm off on Mondays, so this is my last day off before I leave Sunday night. I'm done diving locally, so today I readjust straps, recharge / replace batteries, etc. (I got a magnetic list on the frig), and pack the gear for the flight (oh yeah, remove lighter from save-a-dive kit). I'll carry on my reg, compass computer and mask, and the rest goes with a hope and a prayer in the luggage.
My wife asked me sarcastically, "Gee... what ever will you do for two weeks without ScubaBoard?"
Ha! I got that all worked out. I'm gonna' print out 200 pages of threads I've never read to take along (hope that doesn't overweight my suitcase).
I didn't mention the cyber café. :eyebrow:

Just curious - why does your profile say "Logged Dives: None - Not Certified"?

the turnaround time equation hurt my head so I stopped trying to figure out what the heck your talking about.

I just wanted to weigh in as another short timer, headed down a week from wendsday, whoo hoo! now just holding my breath for my new camera to show up before I leave!

Simple, really. I will be on Cozumel two weeks plus a couple of hours. Two weeks plus a couple of hours before I arrive there, it's Turnaround Time.

Before it, I want time to move (subjectively) as quickly as possible, but when there's the same amount of time remaining before a Coz trip as the length of the trip will be, time can crawl by and it doesn't bother me.

I was reading this thread and felt left out..
Just had to add my Coz counter to the list :)

OK, tomorrow is Turnaround Day for me. That's the day before a trip to Cozumel where there is exactly the same amount of time between then and my departure to Coz as the time I will have on the island. Up until then, time can not move fast enough for me, but from there on in I'm in no hurry.

My wife thinks this is weird.

I have been thinking about these things too. Today is "turaround" day for me!

I have scheduled, revised, rescheduled, checked ScubaBoard and various dive Op websites.... Checked gear..... Dreamed dreams.....

Isn't this normal behavior????

See you there!

Dd

For anyone going to Cozumel it is 100% normal!!!!!!

Have to admit, I don't log my dives, so it's zero logged which automatically says Not Certified. Actually, I've OW certified FOUR times. First time in 1971 at age 13 (NASDS), second time a few years back after a long SI (SSI), next time a year and a half ago when I took a group from my church through an OW class (PADI), and then again when I got my Rescue cert and the instructor accidentally pushed the OW button on the PADI web site, and they certified me again. LOL.
I think I make about 150 dives per year. Here, let me look at my computer... 167 dives since March of last year.

Rick,

I too was NASDS in 1976 then took some time off and then PADI. Actually have not counted the "old" dives even tho still have the old log book. Interesting difference between the old NASDS cert and what PADI does now. Hope we can meet in Coz this trip. It will be my first diving there.
