Hi everyone,
My partner and I are interested in doing a liveaboard trip to Tubbataha in May (admittedly, this is last minute by liveaboard standards). This would be our first liveaboard experience but we are AOW and experienced divers.
First off, I would love general advice on what to look for when choosing a liveaboard. What would you typically inquire about and how do you assess safety standards (which seems to be important in this area)?
And secondly, do you know anything / have been on any of the following?
Thank you in advance!!!

And secondly, do you know anything / have been on any of the following?
- M/Y Sakura budget liveaboard: Sakura Charter
- Dolphin Bay Divers: Dive Operator for Tubbataha Reef, Liveaboard diving
- Apprehensive about these guys because I think this review on TripAdvisor about a 2016 fatal diving accident aboard Flying Dolphin was with them: 1 great dive and then a fatal accident - Dolphin Bay Divers, the Flying Dolphin - Review of Tubbataha Reef, Puerto Princesa, Philippines - TripAdvisor
- Spirit of Diving: Liveaboard Scuba Diving Trips in the Philippines | Spirit of Diving
- They also have a catamaran called "Flying Dolphin" but I think it's different/unrelated to Dolphin Bay Divers above
- Other recommendations/openings for 2 adults in early May 2018?
Thank you in advance!!!
