Tubataha 2008 ? $1000 + Is it worth it ???

SB`ers , I am in the RP`s and am wondering if 5 days on a LOB is worth $1000 + . Any other places you could spend that for a months worth of daily 2 tank dives elsewhere ? Where is the best bang for your buck in SE Asia ? Best fish life , coral , clarity and cheap ? Kevin

Well, liveaboards aren,t the best value for the money. But they will get you to places you can't dive otherwise and if you have limited time for a vacation, you get a lot of diving done fast. The Philippines is definetly a good value for your diving dollar. They have it all. You just need to know what you want and then figure out which area they have it! Oh, sorry They don't have it all.... If you're looking for cold water diving, look elsewhere...

I dived with Nelson's in Moalboal for 750 pesos a dive, which I thought was a pretty good deal. Tanks, weights, and guide included. It was a flat rate. I paid the same shore dive or boat dive. Nothing extra for night dive. I think that will be hard to beat most places. I don't think it's a good deal, Kevin. But then again, you've been all over the Philippines. Have you tried Sogod Bay yet? Sarangani Bay is also another spot.
