TSandM:
I'm allergic to morning.

Heh, I agree -- we're usually in the water by 8:15 or so (6:15 ferry over)
It means a 4:30 get up for me (and it's nearly impossible to sleep in those silly seats) but we can get out to the glass-bottom boat before it's been all stirred up, get 3 dives in and get the 2-something ferry back.

TSandM:
With all the wonderful things that are happening in the next five days, running into one of those amazing, enormous fish would be overload. I think I would just instantly vaporize underwater.

I want to see a Fed Ex nudibranch, though. That, I think I could handle.

I hope a lot of SoCal SBers can join us, so I can put faces to screen names!

Ken is the Nudi King. I don't know how he does it. I can't remember what wreck it was, maybe the Sue-Jac, but we were swimming up the wreck underneath an overhang, Ken stops, points his HID up. I stop and look. Don't see anything. Look closer. Don't see anything. Look closer. Hey, it's a nudi! Frickin Steve Austin, I tell ya.

Ben_ca:
Topside photos are fine also... never been to Catalina... maybe we should plan a Grand Dive a thon?

Now you're thinking...

Chica and I will hook you guys up in a minute. Lets do it in fall, tho. The diving on Cat is better in the fall - less people, best weather of the year, cheap CHEAP hotels on the island, etc.

We will dive, grub, dive and them maybe dive a little more.

OK - 'dette and I are planning a MoCal invasion for November.

4:30! Woof, you guys get to sleep in!

From Temecula, we have a 3:00AM wake up. Followed by a group rondezvous and a gear load up before making the drive to San Pedro to catch the 6:15 ferry.

Lynne: I don't think Laura and I will be there this Sunday. Our schedule is a bit crammed at the moment. Give us a bit more heads up time next time you come down.

I would have enjoyed meeting you, Peter, HBDiveGirl and the other SBers...

BTW - Happy Birthday!

Ian

Thanks, Ian! Sorry for the short notice, but we weren't sure Casino Point was going to be an option for a while there.

As Ben_ca said, take lots of U/W pics and keep a lookout for 2 giant sea bass. Have fun.

Ok, you win! yeouch.

If there are any GSB's in the dive park, they've pretty much had it to themselves (and probably happy for that). The fire has left the dive park empty for the last 5-6 days. I haven't been in the water period since the 12th.

I have heard from the glassbottom boat captains that they've seen a baby "Dr. Bill" in Lover's Cove as well as a few others. Not sure what that means... it's noth the 600 pounder, but a baby might mean 200-300 pounds!

Unfortunately I plan to be on the King Neptune while you folks are fighting the sediments from the dive classes in the Park. We should be at Float 5 when you arrive, and back in before you leave. Where can I find you as you "prepare" to catch the boat back?

By the way Ken and 'Dette... did you see NetDoc's post about diving here on the King Neptune the two days before the Long Beach Show?

Jaye and I will be outta town that week (9th anniversary). I'll be getting back in just in time to hit the ScubaShow for the day / evening.

That Sunday (6/3) Jaye and I and Dette will be back at the Park with NWGratefulDiver (Bob.)

Then Jaye, me, Josh and Jen will be back the next weekend (6/8 - 6/10) for the 2 Harbors Summer Wine thingy. We'll be diving the park that Sunday.

You are gonna get so tired of seeing me this summer, my friend!
